Erin Wirch
Trainer
Erin's passion began with the Thoroughbred in the lower mainland of British Columbia, Canada. As a young rider, she helped her coach restart many racehorses to become hunters or jumpers throughout her junior career. Her own horse, Chaplin, was a thoroughbred she bought as a 6 year old and has now recently retired him after many wonderful years. She took "Charlie" to her first Medal Finals win in 2006, and continued to compete in the equitation and jumper divisions over the span of 4 years. Her love for the Thoroughbred will continue, but as she aged out of the junior divisions her experience changed when she began to work for professionals in Europe and Canada. She relocated to Calgary, Alberta to join the team at Spruce Meadows and was part of the development of many of their young Hanoverians over a 2-year period. This led to working for riders competing Internationally for Canada, breeders, private owners and had the opportunity to travel and take lessons from top riders all over North America. During the past few years she has competed all over for multiple horse owners, as well as developing her own group of students along the way. Her love of coaching and sport has made it possible to share her experiences with riders of all different levels. She has coached many riders to top placings at Spruce Meadows, Thunderbird Show Park, and HITS Coachella. She has been involved in many successful sales of horses, and is always happy to help riders find their ideal equine partner.
The program at Chaplin Equestrian is dedicated to bringing up riders and horses in a positive environment. It is incredibly important to us that riders learn the finer details of this traditional sport while enjoying the ride. We believe that everyone can benefit from spending the time with their horses to build a partnership and set individual goals, so we make sure to cater to all different levels. Whether you are just starting in the sport or you have had a passion for it for ages, we are right there with you! We focus on young horse development, sales of both amateur and professional horses and working with amateur riders looking to build skills to compete at the national level.
